You might look at your face in the mirror, be basically satisfied with what you see but think that you have just a few small flaws or imperfections that you’d like to fix. If this is the case, you don’t need major cosmetic surgery. Instead, board certified Atlanta plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Crispin offers a series of non-surgical procedures that can make those small touch-ups you need. One of the easier and more popular procedures we offer is microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion is an exceptionally simple procedure that can give you a small but noticeable improvement in the look and texture of your face. Dr. Crispin will be happy to speak with you about your options and will determine if microdermabrasion is right for you.
The Microdermabrasion Procedure
What is microdermabrasion exactly and what problems can it treat?
Microdermabrasion isn’t useful for deeper problems, such as severe acne scars or stretch marks. Instead, it’s mainly used to give you more of a brighter, “refreshed” look when your skin just needs a little attention and not a major procedure.
During the microdermabrasion procedure, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Crispin will spray tiny crystals onto the area of your skin that concerns you. Those crystals will gently remove the outer layer of your skin.
This results in a rejuvenation of your facial appearance. Dr. Crispin will make your skin will look brighter and feel softer without truly altering any of its fundamental qualities.
Microdermabrasion: Safe and Easy
One of the appeals of the microdermabrasion procedure is its safety and ease. It’s an exceptionally safe procedure; the only real risks are some of the tiny crystals making their way into unprotected eyes. Dr. Crispin will ensure this is not a factor for you.
After the procedure, there’s no need to worry about side effects or complications. Your skin will be somewhat pink for about a day after your microdermabrasion, but that’s normal and will quickly disappear. You should avoid exposure to the sun for a few days after your microdermabrasion and use moisturizer and sunscreen whenever possible.
Beyond that, you don’t have to worry about your microdermabrasion at all. Dr. Crispin will give you any instructions you’ll need before your procedure.
