Winter is winding down and it’s safe to say, we’re all looking ahead to warmer months. If you’re already stressing about swimsuit season, don’t be afraid to show some skin in the sun. We’ve got you covered! The best way to rejuvenate your skin while evening your skin tone is with a laser skin resurfacing treatment. We offer three types of laser treatments, each offering different benefits depending on your desired results and procedure commitment.

The newest treatment on the market is the Deka DOT laser. The laser utilizes a ‘dot’ pattern to create thousands of microscopic perforations in the skin while leaving the areas around each ‘dot’ intact. This allows for the skin to heal faster between and around the tiny ‘dots.’ The impact left by the DOT is not as deep as other lasers, eliminating the chance for bruising or damage. Additionally, the technology allows for independent control of both the laser strength and dwell time, so we can tailor the treatment and recovery to your unique needs.
For the Deka DOT laser, the in-office appointment is relatively quick, usually averaging just twenty minutes for an entire face area treatment. After the procedure, your skin may show signs of redness and peeling for a few days, as the new, fresher skin appears. Typically, you’ll be able to see your final results within a week.

Another option is the Pearl™ Laser, which is better suited for larger areas of the body. It works to gently remove imperfections while stimulating collagen growth. The production of collagen prompts the appearance of blemish free, youthful skin. It typically takes a maximum of 15 minutes for larger treatment areas. The Pearl™ laser is extremely gentle, allowing patients to go back to normal activities within a day. Results become fully apparent within four to seven days.

The classic CO2 Laser is useful for more involved treatments. Unlike the Pearl™ laser, the CO2 laser can remove several layers of skin in one treatment. This can greatly enhance your results, but will also increase your recovery period. New skin growth can be expected within 7 to 14 days of your treatment. Although your skin will be red after this treatment, this new skin is greatly improved in appearance and texture. The redness following CO2 lasering can take 1 month to recede. During this time, some mild discomfort should be expected. Even with a longer recovery period, many patients prefer this method because it requires only one treatment and produces more dramatic results.

Each option comes with unique benefits, and we’d love to answer any questions you have about pros and cons. Give us a call at (404) 257-9888 if you’re interested to learn more or schedule a consultation, and we’ll get your skin looking its best by swimsuit season.
