Breasts are an aspect of a woman’s physique that often affects her self-esteem, confidence and concept of self. Breast surgery provides an avenue for volume changes, reshaping, and overall breast rejuvenation. For many years, breast augmentation has been the most common type of breast procedure performed in America, and it continues to rank number one today. There are a few different types of augmentation procedures, depending on the implant type and incision placement you prefer, but all options aim to achieve the same goal of a refreshed and naturally feminine shape. This procedure is a wonderful way to enhance your femininity and boost your self-esteem, but there are several misconceptions associated with the surgery that we’d like to set straight!

For starters, the common misconception is that a breast procedure will leave you with unnatural or “plastic” looking results. Not under our care! Based on your unique anatomy, age, and other physical considerations, we will work directly with you to determine the options for your surgery that will best meet your aesthetic goals and provide a beautifully natural appearance. Check out some of the amazing results we’ve had with other patients in our breast augmentation gallery.

Now, when it comes to your unique treatment, it’s important to know the difference between a breast augmentation and a breast lift. In some cases, we do combine the two procedures depending on the patient’s specific circumstances, but they are two different procedures. A breast lift procedure involves lifting the already present breast tissue and re-contouring it to provide a firmer, more youthful appearance. The nipple is then re-positioned into a higher location and, when necessary, excess areola skin is removed to further rejuvenate breast appearance. This can be a stand-alone procedure or combined with an augmentation with the addition of implants.

And finally, we want to ease any stress you feel about possible scarring and the recovery process. Understandably, scarring is a big concern when talking about any kind of procedure, and especially one in a sensitive area such as this. We have three different incision options for breast augmentation, each tailored to minimize or hide scars in the natural creases of your body. During your initial consultation, we’ll discuss each option in depth and help determine the right one for you.

A breast augmentation is a big decision, and we want you to be as informed as possible during the process.
